Middle Ages battle axe.
Large hammer or ax, at the end of a long handle, a formidable ancient weapon (Jer. 51:2020Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms; (Jeremiah 51:20)). It is referred metaphorically to Jacob as God’s weapon to break the nations into pieces.
