). “Thresholds” (Neh. 12:2525Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the ward at the thresholds of the gates. (Nehemiah 12:25)).

Concise Bible Dictionary:

In 1 Chronicles 26:15,1715To Obed-edom southward; and to his sons the house of Asuppim. (1 Chronicles 26:15)
17Eastward were six Levites, northward four a day, southward four a day, and toward Asuppim two and two. (1 Chronicles 26:17)
the Hebrew word is given untranslated; but the same occurs in Nehemiah 12:25,25Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the ward at the thresholds of the gates. (Nehemiah 12:25) where it is translated “thresholds,” and in the margin “treasuries.” It probably refers to the apartments used as storehouses in the outer temple.
