(gatherings). Probably store-rooms in the Temple (1 Chron. 26:15,17¹⁵To Obed-edom southward; and to his sons the house of Asuppim. (1 Chronicles 26:15)
¹⁷Eastward were six Levites, northward four a day, southward four a day, and toward Asuppim two and two. (1 Chronicles 26:17)). “Thresholds” (Neh. 12:25²⁵Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the ward at the thresholds of the gates. (Nehemiah 12:25)).

(1 Chronicles 26:17) the Hebrew word is given untranslated; but the same occurs in Nehemiah 12:25,²⁵Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the ward at the thresholds of the gates. (Nehemiah 12:25) where it is translated “thresholds,” and in the margin “treasuries.” It probably refers to the apartments used as storehouses in the outer temple.
