22. “Day of the Lord” instead of the “day of Christ.”
We should never be troubled because the “day of Christ” is approaching. That is the day for which we look and long. But the “day of the Lord” is the day of awful judgment for this poor world.
24. This verse refers to the ascension of Christ back to heaven, (Acts 1:99And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. (Acts 1:9)), but it also includes the catching up of the church as the mystical “body of Christ.”
