(place of gazelles). (1) A Levitical city of Dan (Josh. 19:42⁴²And Shaalabbin, and Ajalon, and Jethlah, (Joshua 19:42)). Became a city of refuge (Josh. 21:24²⁴Aijalon with her suburbs, Gath-rimmon with her suburbs; four cities. (Joshua 21:24)), where it is written Aijalon; also (1 Sam. 14:31³¹And they smote the Philistines that day from Michmash to Aijalon: and the people were very faint. (1 Samuel 14:31)).
