This morning when I went out for a walk, I read a story—not in a book, but in the snow! On the ground I could plainly see a story of all the animals who had passed that way since yesterday afternoon when a couple inches of snow fell. There were perfect little cat paw prints. There were medium-sized dog tracks. There were big tracks from our old dog who drags her feet when she walks. There were footprints from a fox, birds and even the pet rabbits who got away and live in our woodpile! All these tracks told me a story of who had come and gone and even a little of what they had been doing. These animals didn’t know they had left behind a story!
This reminds me of the Bible verse that says, “All things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do” (Hebrews 4:1313Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. (Hebrews 4:13)). Did you know you are leaving tracks? God can see everywhere you have been and everything you have ever done.
If you have not come to God as a sinner and let Him forgive your sins by washing you in the blood of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, do so now before it is too late. Then Jesus’ blood will cover all the footprints of sin you have left behind. “Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered” (Romans 4:77Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. (Romans 4:7)). You will have a new life that wants to make Him happy, and all your steps can be following Him. “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and He delighteth in his way” (Psalm 37:2323The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. (Psalm 37:23)).
