A Child's Reply

A little girl, just seven years old, was questioned once by a lady, who, we may suppose, wished to test her.

“Tell me, my dear,” she inquired, “who is Jesus?”

“The Son of God,” was the reply. “But we do not see Him here; is He in the world?”

“Oh no, He is not in the world now;” answered the child. “He was once, but He is now in heaven, up above the sky, and God is there too. If we believe in Him, then when we die, we will see who He is, and where He is, and where God is and where heaven is too.”

“Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings Thou host perfected praise.” Matt. 21:16¹⁶And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise? (Matthew 21:16).

“And they shall see His face; and His name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign forever and ever.” Rev. 22:4, 5⁴And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. ⁵And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. (Revelation 22:4‑5).
