We have never heard aught of the “peculiar people” to whom you refer; but we fully believe that the power of working miracles, and speaking with tongues, has ceased in the Church. We do not undertake to say how far the failure of the Church itself has caused this cessation, or whether it was the divine purpose that such power should continue. Neither do we dare to limit faith, wherever it exists.
