2 Thessalonians 1

Paul talks about the grace and peace from God that is for all Christians. The men of the world gave these Christians trouble because they loved the Lord Jesus and followed Him. Paul thanks God for their faith and for the love and care they had for one another while they suffered persecution. Why does God allow people to do bad things to us? God is patient with the wicked now, but not for long. Very soon, Jesus is coming to take us to heaven. Then when the Lord Jesus will appear back on earth, He will turn trouble around. He will give trouble to the people who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel. Sinners will suffer trouble in hell while Christians will enjoy peace and rest in heaven with the Lord Jesus. When this happens, the Lord Jesus Christ will receive much glory and He will be admired in all them that believe. When wicked people do bad things to Christians, they are really persecuting the Lord Jesus. Jesus will be glorified when He sends these wicked people to an everlasting hell. Don’t wait until heaven to give glory to the Lord Jesus. The Apostle prays that we Christians would give glory to the name of the Lord Jesus now by living a life of faith with power here on earth.
