J. N. Darby Translation

+
7
But the presente heavens and the earth by his word are laid up in store, kept for fire unto a day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

JND Translation Notes

+
e
Lit. "the now heavens," in contrast to the "then world," ver. 6.

W. Kelly Translation

+
7
But the now heavens and the earth by the samea word have been stored with fireb, being kept for a day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

WK Translation Notes

+
a
The RV supplants "the same" with "his."
b
The rather difficult verses 5-7 seem to be fairly given in the RV, though connecting "fire" with "stored," rather than "kept" as in the KJV.
