The ministry mentioned in the beginning of this chapter is the gospel. We who believe the good news of salvation are to bear witness to others. Even when we don’t say something, our lives should show that a great change has taken place. Our former life of dishonesty and craftiness is now replaced by godliness as we feed on the Word of God and act on it. Those who do not know the Lord Jesus as their Savior can only please themselves and the god of this world. Do you know who he is? He is Satan, the deceiver, who blinds the minds of them who do not believe the gospel. Such people are in darkness, for the light of the gospel has not entered their hearts. Preaching the glad tidings will stir up the anger of the enemy who persecutes God’s messengers. As a result, Paul suffered much, and so will we, if we are faithful. But if we bear it patiently, we will manifest the life of Jesus in our body. Only one life, will soon be past; only what’s done for Christ will last. What we see all around us will pass away, but what we do not see is eternal.
